Another year, another chance to figure everything out. Camryn was pacing inside of his room, his mind whirling in millions of directions. Normally, this didn't happen until much later in the term. But for some reason, the wheel started turning early. He was actually starting to annoy some of his roommates, so he got kicked out so they could all unpack and get settled in peace. He shoved his hands down into his pockets, and retreated into the dungeon hallway near the common room. He still had to meet with his head of house later in the evening to be assigned his prefect duties for the term, so he had some time to spare for the next few hours. He was dressed simply, keeping to the dress code, even though he loathed wearing a tie. Whoever thought kids would enjoy wearing such things was a mystery to him.
He walked up to the main floor, his blonde eyebrows rising slightly as he saw what looked like a few second years running around the corner. A part of him wanted to snap into prefect gear and yell after them not to run. But then his normal Slytherin self didn't really feel like bothering with the younger years. Not worth his time. He leaned back against the wall, deciding to just stand around and see what could come by. His shirt opened slightly as he reclined back, since he had left the top couple buttons of his shirt undone. If he had to wear a blasted uniform, he was going to modify to his liking. Likewise, his tie wasn't place correctly. No, instead he'd just slung it around his neck loose, without putting it into a knot. If a professor came by and told him to fix it, he would, but until then, it wasn't going to happen.
Cam's baby blues looked around him, surprised there wasn't more activity. It was still the first day, so he supposed half of the student body was off getting settled in, at least the younger years. But for students like himself, who were already in the sixth year, he was surprised not more of them were out prowling around. Granted, he wasn't much one for launching into big meaningful conversations, but he did feel like it would be nice to have someone around to have a small chat with. He pulled an old pocket edition copy of a spell book from his back pocket, flipping it open to a random page. Might as well familiarize with some old spells while he waited for someone to come around to entertain him. he was actually very interested in what new spells he might be learning for this year. The old ones were getting extremely dull.
He wanted something more complicated, more diverse. He had the drive to preform difficult spells. Now all he needed was a professor that would actually let him use the tougher ones. He knew it was all just sticking to code and making sure that each lesson was by the book. But he was utterly sick of it. His eyes stayed focused on his book when he heard footsteps echoing down the hall. Perhaps he'd actually find someone to stop and have a chat with after all. It would be best if it was someone from his own house, but since he was in a good mood, someone from another house could be acceptable. Of course, that could always change in an instant, but he'd try to be civil. He ran a hand over his curly blonde locks, the silver watch on his wrist falling slightly when his hand raised. Time to start the new term off with a bang.
