Charlie was glad it was the weekend. She had some homework to catch up on and she wasn’t about to have any sort of distraction. It was also a Hogsmeade weekend so the common room was pretty empty, except for a few straggling first and second years that couldn’t go to the village. She had easily scared them off. She had a smug smirk plastered on her face when some ran to their dorms and other just left the common room. She liked being able to do that. The lower years were much easier to scare into doing things for her. The fourth, fifth, and sixth years were another story. They needed more of a threat of sorts. Not that she did it often, especially to ones in her own house. Scaring them away was one thing. She saved the worse things for the other houses.
She never needed to curse anyone. No one had really given her a reason, and that slightly saddened the brunette. She liked feeling like she was in control of someone. She always had been, and it had gotten her into a bit of trouble the past years, but once she had started her sixth year, none of the teachers paid her any mind, They had other trouble makers to deal with, so it left Charlie with a bit of freedom to do what she wished. But for now, she was behaving herself and being a good student, (which was a rare thing to see). She was sitting sideways on the couch, her back against the arm, and her legs laying flat so they laid across the couch, taking it over. She had a few books next to her and some on the table that she had pulled closer to her couch, so she could reach them.
When doing her homework, she liked to be thorough with it. Especially the essays she had been assigned for three of her classes. Her history of magic book was open to the page she needed, and she grabbed her wand. Waving it, she conjured some extra parchment, a quill, an ink bottle and her muggle music player. As pureblood as she was, she couldn’t help but give the muggle points for some of the things they came up with. She had grown up around them, and had to act like them for most of her life. That had to be one of the biggest secrets that she kept from everyone. Including her closest friend, Holly. Charlie had always disliked the muggleborn witches and wizards, so she couldn’t exactly let everyone know that she didn’t mind muggles.
She pressed the earbuds into her ears, and turn it on. Shuffing through some songs, she finally chose one to being her work with. She set the player next to her as she picked her quill up. She was determined to get all these papers done today. She wanted to have a life this weekend. Maybe she’d go to the village later if she did. Humming to herself, she dipped the tip in ink and began scratching against the parchment as she started her essay.

In all honesty, Rick was rather looking forward to the weekend trip into Hogsmeade. Not because he was going to meet up with anyone, mind you. It was simply because he enjoyed looking around the quiet wizarding village and exploring the surrounding area. There was always something new to see, something different to do, or something just happening. At that current moment in time, Rick was just looking forward to walking to the Shrieking Shack and trying to figure out the past behind the derelict building. It really did intrigue him, not that he would admit it to anyone.
He walked slowly down the stairs from the seventh year boys' dormitory, running his hand against the cold stone as he went. He found himself casually glancing out of the windows as he walked, catching a glimpse of the outside world. It seemed pretty deserted, though he suspected that was because all of the people who could go to Hogsmeade had all left in a huge crowd earlier that morning. Rick much preferred to wander around and get his affairs together before going. It meant that he was more organised and also that he would avoid the hustle and bustle of the packs.
His foot hit the bottom step and he took a look around, expecting to see a lot of first and second years eagerly plotting to take over when the older years returned, but instead, it was deadly quiet. That put him on edge straight away, and he looked around for any signs of a dead body or a rat that could have scared everyone off. He found the source of the problem, letting out a brief laugh. Charlie Adams was practically lying across the sofa, taking up pretty much all the room available. Rick grinned, wandering casually over and leaning on the back of the sofa as he looked at her.
"Been tormenting poor innocents, Charlie?"

Charlie had been good and productive for a good while now. She had finished her essay for her History of Magic class, and she was already half way done her Astronomy paper. She nibbled on the top of her quill as she flipped through some pages and scanned the words. She hated having to so accurate with this damned class. She was definitely going to need Holly to look it over. She was not going to get any low grades in her last year. She paused her researching for a moment as she grabbed her music player, and skipped a few songs she wasn’t really in the mood to listen too. Finding a good one, she set it back down and continued her work.
Even though Rick had come down from the dorms, Charlie couldn’t hear anything at all. She always put the music all the way up while she did her work. It helped her concentrate better. Her foot bobbed to the beat of the music as she continued writing. She finished it just a few minutes later. She was always good at getting it down on paper, but it was harder to make sure it was all right and made sense. She let out a content sigh and closed a number of books. As she ran her hand through her hair, she saw something move towards the couch. She looked in the direction and smirked slightly. Rick Rockwell.
She pulled the headphones from her ears, and set them on top of the player just as Rick leaned against the couch and spoke. She grinned at his words. “Of course,” she replied, simply. She tucked some hair behind her ear and stacked the books that she was done with. “And what about you Rick. Been causing any havoc lately?”
